Raipur : Gurukul Ashram is an important part of our Vedic culture : Dr Raman Singh

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that Gurukul Ashram is an important centre of Vedic knowledge, tradition and culture. Dr Singh was addressing the Golden Jubilee concluding ceremony of Gurukul Ashram in village Aamsena (Nuapada district) of Odisha state, situated adjacent to Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. He said that Amsena Gurukul Ashram has made important contribution in conservation and protection of Vedic culture in remote areas of Odisha. It is one of the important Gurukul Ashrams of the country. Commemorating the Founder of Arya Samaj Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Chief Minister said that this Gurukul Ashram is functioning as per the ideals of Swami Dayanand Saraswati.

On the occasion, Dr Singh attended the 51 Kundiy Chaturved Parayan Vishwa Shanti Yagya organized in the Ashram premise and prayed for world peace and prosperity. He announced sanction Rs 10 lakh for development of the ashram. The programme was also attended by Finance Minister of Hariyana Captain Abhimanyu, Acharya Balkrishna of Patanjali Yogpeeth and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Sanjay Agrawal as special guests of the occasion. Chief Minister said that Swami Dharmanand Saraswati had established this ashram 50 years ago. His dedication and hard work has established identity of this ashram as an important centre of Vedic Culture. He said that this Gurukul is situated in Dankaranya area of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram.

Dr Singh said that it is an auspicious day for this day marks the birth anniversary of messenger of love, kindness and humanity- Jesus Christ, Creator of Chhattisgarh Ex-Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayi and Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya. On the occasion, he extended warm greetings to people. On the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna of Patanjali Yogpeeth announced sanction Rs 15 lakh for development of Ayurvedic Pharmacy and Finance Minister of Hariyana Captain Abhimanyu announced sanction Rs 10 lakh for Charkhi Dadri Kanya Gurukul of Bhivandi district of Bhivandi. Swami Dharmanand Saraswati also expressed his thoughts. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Finance Minister of Hariyana Captain Abhimanyu felicitated Swami Dharmanand Saraswati. Gurukul Ashram Head Mata Parmeshwari Devi, Acharya Vratanand Maharaj and many saints, students and devotees were present on the occasion. This ashram was established in year 1968 by Swami Dharmanand Saraswati. At that time this tribal populated area was known as drought-affected area. Presently, 300 boys and 200 girls are studying in this ashram. Ashram also operated cowshed, and a hospital of 30-bed capacity. Ashram is also conducting de-addiction drive. Welcome address was given by Captain Rudrasen. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Himanshu Dwivedi.
